Check out this 15-second preview of Christina Aguilera’s new single “Not Myself Tonight,” off her forthcoming album, Bionic.
Aguileria describes the album as a mix of many genres and styles of music. “I was able to explore and create a fresh, sexy feel using both electronic and organic elements with subject matter ranging from playful to introspective. I am so excited for my fans to hear the new sound. It is something I don’t think anyone will expect” says the songstress.
Bionic features songs co-written by Christina along with collaborations from Sia, Tricky Stewart, Polow Da Don, Le Tigre, Hill & Switch, and Ladytron among others. There’s even a ballad produced and written by Linda Perry titled “Lift Me Up”.
Christina notes, “Working on this album with so many talented artists and producers that I admire was really an amazing experience. The artists I chose to work with added so many unique sonic layers to Bionic. My intention was to step into their world and what they do combined with my own vision and sound. The results were magic.”
The new track "Not Myself Tonight" drops Tuesday night & the album on June 8th. Christina also recently wrapped up her first film, Burlesque which co-stars Cher, Stanley Tucci, and Kristen Bell.
If this feels very 'Kill Bill-ish' to you, then you are absolutely right! Lady Gaga's "Telephone" video, featuring Beyoncé (and directed by Jonas Åkerlund), has finally premiered & features the famous Quentin Tarantino 'Pussy Wagon'!
Although this is no Michael Jackson or Madonna debut- we understand the hype surrounding this release. Gaga says "What I like about it is, it's a real true pop event. When I was younger I was always excited when there was a big giant event happening in pop music and that's what I wanted this to be."
It would have felt more authentic to me if there wasn't an excess of product placement- ie: Virgin Phone, Polaroid Camera, Beats by Dre everything!! What did you think of it? Did you get the joke about her rumored 'bulge'? Did you like the 'smoking' sunglasses?
Last night I tuned in to watch the "Jack5ons" on A&E- and despite the weirdness factor, I STILL cried over the passing of Michael. It only took Jackie to shed one tear and I was a mess. I will never forget what happened on June 25th (only a few days before my Birthday, might I add). So, take a moment to celebrate MJ's life with me & enjoy the latest video by Spike Lee!
Lee crafted the moving video using photos and video of Michael’s boyhood home in Gary, Indiana, spliced together with footage of Jackson during his prime and video of his fans reacting to the King of Pop’s death by celebrating his life.
In the past few months, Lady Gaga's tour has had just as many changes as her wigs! From Kanye to Cudi- she can't seem to hit the road peacefully. After she wraps the U.S. leg of the tour in January, Gaga is planning on scrapping the entire thing in favor of a brand-new show, which she'll unveil during her run of U.K. arena shows the following month. Here is what Gaga had to say:
"It's kind of funny because, after Kanye and I split up for this tour, I was really unsure if I could get a show together in time for my fans," Gaga told MTV News on Saturday, hours before her Monster Ball stop in San Diego. "But I didn't want to disappoint them and not tour over Christmas, and I had a new record coming out, so ... what's exciting about this show is that I was able to put together something that, in truth, I never would have done if I had a longer amount of time.
"So, I put together a show that is so perfectly an avant-garde-performance-art-fashion installation, put in a blender and vomited on as a pop show. It's kind of this amazing theme of evolution, but it's in a garage, and me and all my friends are kind of exploring the music," she continued. "But it's a very vacuous space. It's a box, it's a runway, and we have to transform that space to feel like eight different acts throughout the entire show. But for the next version of the Monster Ball, which is going to be in February when I begin in the U.K. with my arena tour, I'm throwing out the stage. My team thinks I'm completely psychotic. But I don't f---ing care what they think."
Gaga wouldn't divulge too many secrets of the new Monster Ball, but she did hint at a very big show, in just about every conceivable way. "Well, just to give you an idea, the stage is about four times the size of the one we're on now and conceptually, it's completely different,"Gaga said.
