While many of us admire the way Peggy Olson is able to take charge at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce - her character might not have existed without the real-life inspiration of Jane Maas. Maas, who would like to be counted among the founding mothers of advertising- started her career as a copywriter at Ogilvy & Mather in the 1960s and rose to creative director soon after. She would later move on to top creative positions at shops including Wells Rich Greene, where she worked on the famous “I Love New York” state tourism campaign. “This great advertising has many fathers,” she says. “But I am its only mother.”

At age 80, she still consults for clients like liquor conglomerate Brown-Forman and Madison Square Garden Corporation. She’s also just kicked off a 40-city tour promoting her third book, Mad Women, a look back at how the agency old boys' club treated the fairer sex. Adweek caught up with Maas to reflect on her stories from the creative revolution—and get her perspective on what’s changed for women since- read the full interview below, Jane offers some candid views on women in the biz today & the juggling act they play.

Mad Music: "He Hit Me" (and it felt like a kiss) by The Crystals

Mad Men always seems to end their episodes with the perfect song. Last night was no exception! The words are just as eery as the vibe of the show & we cannot stop listening as we try to figure out how Don's nightmare will pan out in the rest of the series.

Secrets Are Back: Mad Men Season 5, Ep 1 "A Little Kiss" Review

Whew, after the longest 17 months in my TV life I'm thrilled to say Mad Men season 5 is finally back! But much like the advertising for the show - we were left with a vague view on why "Secrets are back."

For two hours we - awkwardly- watched the new lives of many familiar characters. The season opens up in late May 1966, just days before Don Drapers 40th birthday (which we find out through his now-wife-Megan). The timing indicates that it has only been about eight months since we last saw Don and the gang, but change is underway both personally and socially. The episode opens with a scene based on real-life events, of executives at the Young & Rubicam agency dousing a crowd of mostly black protesters with water. A few of the picketers come upstairs to confront the young men: “And they call us savages!

Fashion Foodie: Jean Paul Gaultier Diet Coke Creative Director

Never really knew there was a lane for fashion x soda, but if anyone is going to pull it off why not Jean Paul Gaultier? The new partnership between designer, Jean Paul Gaultier and Diet Coke has him set as the new Creative Director of Diet Coke. Her legacy of the girl with the golden voice will always remain magical, despite the recent lows she's faced in the public eye and privately. At only 48 years old, today we mourn the loss of Whitey Houston!

With causes unknown, it has been confirmed that the legend has passed away in Beverly Hills just hours before attending Clive Davis' pre-grammy party.

How to even name a favorite song, it's just not possible! Below is a little something we'll be rocking to. Rest In Peace, Whitney- you will be missed.
