I love Luchador masks. It has been one of my secret quirks for quite a while now...
But at least now, I know I'm not the only one. Introducing La Lucha, an upstart taqueria on Avenue A (NYC). The restaurant just opened today (11/20), but they claim to have some of the best authentic Mexico City-style street tacos. If you are in the east Village and want to watch some Luca Libre, head on over.
The tiny (8 table) restaurant is decked with wrestling posters and '60s Lucha movies projecting silently, for inspiration, on the wall. They also keep the meals very true to those found in Mexico City—no guacamole, no sides of rice and beans, and a stern anti-burrito position.
